Layering The Ordinary serums safely
Which actives pair well, and which to keep apart.

Thinnest to thickest
Apply water-based serums first and heavier, oil-based ones last. Give each layer a moment to settle so the next one doesn't pill. Three serums is plenty; more than that rarely adds anything.
Pairs that work
Hyaluronic acid layers with almost anything. Niacinamide pairs well with alpha arbutin, retinoids and most hydrators. Peptides slot easily into morning or evening routines.
Keep these apart
Use retinoids and strong exfoliating acids (AHA or BHA) on different evenings. Direct vitamin C (ascorbic acid) is best in the morning and away from retinoids. Copper peptides don't pair well with strong acids or vitamin C.
When in doubt, split actives between morning and evening.
