An oil-control routine for Kigali's climate
Keep shine in check without stripping your skin.

Why stripping backfires
Harsh, foaming cleansers leave oily skin feeling squeaky clean for an hour, then tight and shinier than before. A damaged barrier loses water faster, and skin often responds with more oil. The goal is balance, not dryness.
Morning
Cleanse with a gentle gel cleanser, then use a niacinamide serum to help regulate oil and refine the look of pores. Finish with a light, oil-free moisturiser and a matte-finish sunscreen. Warm afternoons in town are easier with a fluid SPF that doesn't sit heavy on the skin.
Oily skin still needs moisture. Lightweight hydration is what keeps shine in check.
Evening
Cleanse off sunscreen and the day's build-up. Two or three evenings a week, add a salicylic acid (BHA) product: it dissolves into oil and clears congestion inside the pore. Moisturise afterwards, even if your skin feels oily.

Blotting papers are a better midday fix than washing again. If breakouts are frequent or painful, come and talk it through with us in store, or see a dermatologist.
